History and Mission Statement

The Colonels program was initially formed by Denny Taney and Walt Terrell in 1994 as a 13 year old team competing in the Southwest Ohio League out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Each year thereafter the team moved up one year in age until 1999 when we sent our first group of players into the collegiate ranks. The Colonels remained an 18U team until 2009 when we added a 16U team to our organization. The new head coach is Dan Sullivan. Dan is assisted by Joe Price and Bill Horvath. Coach Price had a highly successful major league career pitching for 11 years, seven of which was with the Cincinnati Reds. New to the coaching staff this year is Mr. Don Stinson. Don brings a wealth of knowledge to our staff and we are grateful to have him join us. The mission of the Colonels is to teach and promote sound fundamental baseball skills in order for our players to achieve their maximum skill level and to assist in every way possible in the placement of our players on college rosters. We do this by providing superior coaching and instruction from an extremely hard working and dedicated coaching staff with an emphasis on skill development of each and every player. We also maintain a close working relationship with the college coaches and professional baseball scouts throughout the Midwest to enable maximum exposure for our players.
