KENTUCKY COLONELS 15/16U BASEBALL TRYOUTS
The Kentucky Colonels are holding tryouts for their 15/16U 2017 team at Covington Catholic High School on Saturday, August 13 from 9:30 until 1:00 and again on Sunday, August 14 from noon until 3:00. Eligible players cannot turn 17 before May 1, 2017. Each player should bring with them spike shoes for the field and turf or tennis shoes for running the 60 on the track. Congratulations to former Kentucky Colonel, Chris Curley, a Beechwood graduate, of Kannapolis of the Class A South Atlantic League homered in three consecutive games at Greensboro July 15-17, including hitting two home runs July 16. He drove in seven runs over the course of those three games.He had a five-game hitting streak from July 14-19, going 9-for-21 over that time. He raised his average to .261 this season, and moved into a tie for third place on the team with five home runs, only two behind the team lead, despite playing in only 11 games.
